Expert Automation for Unattended Retail & IoT Operations

One monitoring layer across every machine you run, whoever made it.

Unattended retail runs on hardware from a dozen different manufacturers. Each one arrives with its own portal, its own login, and its own idea of what a report should look like.

Davison Automation builds the layer that sits above all of it. One dashboard, one alert stream, one set of numbers — regardless of who made the machine.

We have been deploying multi-site IoT monitoring for commercial clients since 2014. This is the same discipline applied to coffee equipment, smart coolers, micro markets, and the payment hardware attached to them.

The gapThe problem is rarely the hardware

Davison Automation - Unattended Retail

An operator with four sites and three brands of equipment is running three dashboards. Nobody watches all of them.

Faults get discovered by a customer rather than by the operator. Restocking runs on memory. Consumables get replaced late, or replaced early and wastefully. And when a landlord, a lender, or a partner asks for numbers, someone loses a weekend to spreadsheets.

The hardware is rarely the problem. The gaps between the hardware are.

CapabilitiesWhat the Platform Does

One view across mixed hardware

Machines from different manufacturers report into a single dashboard. Sales, stock levels, fault states, temperature, and cleaning cycles in one place, with history you can query.

Alerts where your team already is

Faults, low stock, temperature excursions and overdue cleaning cycles go out by SMS, Slack, or email. You set the thresholds and decide who gets what.

Consumables and filter tracking

Water filters tracked by actual litres through the line rather than by calendar estimate. Capacity varies with real water hardness, so swaps get scheduled before drink quality drops or a boiler scales up.

Edge bridges for older equipment

Plenty of commercial equipment still communicates over serial rather than a modern API. We install a small on-site device that translates it and brings the machine online — without replacing hardware that works.

A field app for service calls

Route stops, stock counts, issue logs, and photos captured on a phone or tablet. Installs to the home screen — no app store, no licence per user. Every visit becomes a record.

Payments reconciled against telemetry

Transaction data from your payment processor sits alongside machine data, so sales figures and dispense counts can be checked against each other rather than taken on faith.

ProcessHow a Deployment Works

Site Survey

We assess the equipment, network, power, and water at each location, and determine how each machine can be read. Some expose an API. Some need a bridge. Some need both.

Integration

Bridge devices installed where required, vendor APIs connected where they exist, and everything normalised into a single data model so the dashboard doesn’t care what brand it’s reading.

Dashboard and handover

Your team gets the dashboard and the field app, with alert rules configured to how you actually operate. We stay on for support.

ArchitectureBuilt for more than one operator

Tenant separation sits in the data model from the first line of code. If you run several brands, several regions, or several clients, they stay separated without you running separate systems.

The platform is hardware-agnostic on purpose. Adding a new machine type is an integration, not a rebuild.

Davison Automation - Unattended Retail
  • Vending and micro-market operators running mixed fleets
  • Hotels, resorts, and wellness venues with unattended amenity food and beverage
  • Property managers responsible for equipment across multiple buildings
  • Manufacturers and distributors who want a monitoring layer to offer alongside their hardware

CONNECTTell us what you're running

Send us the make and model of your equipment and how many sites you operate. We’ll tell you what can be read as-is, what needs a bridge, and what a rollout would look like.
